What is Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS)?

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the surgical specialty of dentistry.  It requires 4-6 years of additional hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school.

As board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Nissenbaum, Dr. Balint and Dr. Kalish are the experts in treating a variety of conditions relating to the mouth, teeth, and face.  Drs. Nissenbaum, Balint and Kalish practice together, 5 days a week, at our office here in Chestnut Hill Square.  We specialize in dental implant surgery including full arch cases, wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting, tooth extractions, biopsies and intravenous anesthesia.

Our Staff

At Chestnut Hill Oral Surgery, our experienced surgical assistants are Licensed Dental Assistants with specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Every member of our clinical team is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). We are committed to ongoing education and advanced clinical training, and many of our assistants have earned the prestigious DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) credential.

Our highly trained surgical assistants play an essential role in your care, assisting our surgeons during procedures and the administration of IV sedation while ensuring your safety, comfort, and overall experience throughout your visit.

Our knowledgeable treatment coordinators are dedicated to making every aspect of your care as seamless as possible. They are experienced in navigating health insurance benefits, coordinating treatment plans, and answering questions about scheduling and financial arrangements. Like our clinical staff, they are also BLS certified, reflecting our practice-wide commitment to patient safety and exceptional care.
